George Day of Eye cast at least one bell (all of 12" diameter) in 1915; it =
used to hang in St Helen. Silfield, Norfolk, was removed by me to Wymondham=
Abbey ringing chamber in 1978 and was supposed to be going to the daughter=
church at Spooner Row.

Note the spelling of LLEWELLINS & James.

John Greenhough and I had a conversation in the pub after ringing at=20
Coventry Cathedral tonight, (more interesting than the ringing to be=20
honest!), about foundries that had cast bells hung for ringing in=20
churches in the 20th century but which no longer cast bells. We came=20
up with:

Warners
Barwell
Carrs of Smethwick
G & J
Bond of Burford (Did they cast any complete rings?)
Bowell of Ipswich
Samuel Goslin
Llewelyn and James

Have we missed anyone?

Cheers!

Mike Chester
