Bullring treble

When the bells were on the floor prior to hanging I can remember several of us
looking with raised eyebrows at and feeling the thickness of the trebles .

My thought was that they might as well have cast a solid block and bored a hole
in it because that was what it looked like.
I suppose that the reason for not doing it would be that it might produce a poor
toned bell..... um yes?
