There was a threa a while ago about French Bells- I cannot remember exactly what the thread was about (and dont have time to search for it). The Treble of the of three at St Micheal on Wyre (nr Garstang), Lancs is hung for ringing and litreture in the church says it dates from 1458. Other two appear to be Rudhalls 1740s. Alan
