The whole situation is very sad at Shepton. The locals insist that graphite grease is the best thing for the bearings which doesn't work at all well. Plus the clappers and rollers are very worn indeed. The worst thing is the ends of the RSJ's where they enter the walls, most of which are in a state of collapse. These have also rusted to the extent that the masonry is cracked around them - you can see daylight through several of the cracks! I advised them that ringing should stop over a year ago but they are still ringing them (badly as per usual!). I am positive that nothing will be done until something breaks.<BR>
