<DIV><FONT size=3D2>In Rod Bickerton's letter published in this weeks Ringi=
ng=20
World (page 258) he mentions about giving to national bell charities and=20
specifically mentions the Trust. Although we do not actively look to extrac=
t=20
money from ringers, we do welcome any that they may wish to give. When the =
Trust=20
was set up our trustees did not want money to be diverted from other bell-f=
und=20
schemes to our coffers. Therefore we have never targeted our fund raising a=
t=20
ringers.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2>Having said this we do receive money from ringers and w=
ould=20
welcome more funds! Last year we lost through death two long standing=20
supporters: Ranald Clouston and Gordon Halls.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2>Should anyone be interested in making a donation to the=
Trust=20
then:</FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2>1) The only thing you will get from us is a copy of our=
annual=20
report and accounts several weeks before the details are published in the=20
Ringing World. You will of course receive a receipt.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2>2) We can accept cash, cheques etc. For one off or irre=
gular=20
payments we suggest Gift Aid. For regular monthly payments then we are=20
registered under the give as you earn scheme (GAYE). For those who wish to =
use=20
Gift Aid then send us some money, your name and address and we will send yo=
u a=20
Gift Aid form to sign. You only need sign the form once and can pay subsequ=
ent=20
payments without the need to sign more forms.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2>3) What do we do with the money?<BR>We are building up =
the=20
Bell Rescue Fund; it currently stands at =A340K and we are aiming for =A350=
K. We=20
make donations of bells to projects. Generally this is when the project nee=
ds a=20
helping hand, so the donation of a second-hand bell could be a big cost=20
saving.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=3D2>4) Interest-free loans<BR>We welcome these too! We put =
them on=20
deposit with the Charities Aid Foundation bank and earn interest without ta=
x=20
being deducted. We then use the interest to further the work of the Trust. =
We=20
can usually return the money within two weeks of receiving the=20
request.</FONT></DIV>
