Ernie Bray is alive and well. He rings at Mells, Somerset. I beleive Percy Bray was his father (who I believe passed away some years ago). Sadly we lost John Phippen last year. He was a lovely chap who would do anything to help anyone. Both John and Ernie were Buckland Dinham Ringers until they became unringable in ¢1955. When the bells were restored and augmented in 1994, they both took up ringing again (Ernie rang the treble to the first pealon the restored bells in 1995). As for Mr & Mrs Smith, are they Ron and Rose Smith who ring at Farmborough, Somerset? I am sure Ernie would know.I think Michael R Rose still rings in the Devon area, I rang a peal with him at Wilton (Taunton) some years back. If you want Ernie's number, contactme offline.<BR>
