proposed ring of ten. The remaining seven were cast in 1957 by Taylors from=
the=20
metal of the eight from the former St John's Church, Deritend, Birmingham. =
The=20
official weight of the tenor was 14-0-8 , note F. The Birmingham=20
Mail of 31.12.1938 carried a picture of the Deritend bells in their to=

have been received for them and suggests they go to the poorest parish whic=

J=20
Oldham and J P Fidler of Taylors first visited Latimer's in May 1950 to ass=

the possibility of putting the bells in. The inscriptions of 1-4 and 6=

Deritend were reproduced on the new bells, the 5th being the 1904=20

<DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>The main reason for their transfer from La=

was because the bells were not appreciated in the largely ethnic area of=20
Handswoth / Winson Green, and also that it was next to impossible to raise =

band to ring them on Sundays. Apparently they were usefukl for peal factory=
