other bells going too, they sounded right and I concur that they are the be=

the current three 16s, despite not having rung at Dublin since the ext=

quite complimentary<BR>to the Rudhall bells. Of the front bells 2, 3 and =

produce reasonable power.<BR>Eventually we spotted the obvious. The trebl=
e is=20
quieter and weaker in tone but<BR>it lacks its crown pad and so it is=20
tucked-up to much. This reduces the throw of<BR>the clapper and thus the=
=20
volume. The original order was for the 15. The treble<BR>was added later =
and=20
either the design was never matched to the others or someone<BR>forgot=20
something at some point. That fault, requiring the pad, longer crown<BR>b=
olts,=20
a longer clapper bolt and a few hours sweaty labour still remains to=20
be<BR>remedied.<BR>Next trip!<BR><BR>I think Perth have to be the best 16=
so=20
far in spite of the minor blemish and it<BR>is not a little to do with th=
e=20
superbly tuned-up Rudhall 12 on which they are<BR>based.<BR><BR>My view o=
f the=20
intelligence behind adding Whitechapel trebles to a superb Taylor<BR>12 a=
t=20
