
<html><div style='background-color:'><DIV class=RTE>In the resort of Playa Blanca, Lanzarote, there is the newly-opened five-star Hotel Princesa Yaiza. In the NE corner of the main block of this hotel is a tower with clock faces. Above these is hung a large bell - much larger than is usual on Spanish churches and I have never seen its like on a hotel. The bell is hung for chiming and linked to the clock. It has canons. As far as my rather imperfect perfect pitch goes, I think its note is E or F, which would suggest a weight of about 20 to 22 cwt; this would fit with its appearance (it is clearly visible).</DIV>
