I popped in to have a nosey at the bell this morning. Although possible fo= undry marks had previously been discussed, the finished bell has 'HAYWARD M= ILLS ASSOCIATES' but no actual founder's mark. >The Dean of Southwark was also talking about filling it with Old Hooky... It'll need a centre hole drilling to fit it on the tuning machine, so it mi= ght leak a bit! Having erred very much on the side of caution as regards '= as cast' thickness, it would appear that there's a lot of work to do on the= tuning machine - although it's already close to matching the harmonic stru= cture of the other bells, it needs to go down about a minor third, relating= to taking off at least 1 cwt of metal. I don't know what it weighs at the= moment, but the diameter and profile are designed to fit in with the other= s, so the tuned weight should also fit in.
