------=_NextPart_000_0057_01C575C5.5CEEFB20 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Thanks to Nigel Taylor and Andrew Higson for posting the extra details on S= t.James. I had clearly muddled the 1846 entry for "St.James New Church" - actually H= oly Trinity - with St.James itself. So the C. & G. Mears bells of 1845 (sup= plied in June 1846 - 4-3-6 and 12-3-4) were actually for Holy Trinity as re= corded by Walters. The Mears bells at St.James would therefore appear to be those invoiced out= on 7 Jan 1842 of 4-0-25 (presumably dated 1841 and by Thomas Mears II), an= d (via Moore of Clerkenwell) on 30 May 1845 of 1-2-113/4 (presumably dated = 1845 and by C & G Mears). There are slight discrepancies of founder and dat= e with the details provided by Nigel (who says both are of 1845 and by T.Me= ars), but this looks like a better match between the records and what's sai= d to be in the tower. Anyone care to check and report back? CP ------=_NextPart_000_0057_01C575C5.5CEEFB20 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable
