No need to reinvent the wheel (assuming we know - taking up DB's ref to ass=
umed knowledge - what a wheel is!) here. The NADFAS template and guidance n=
otes already exist, and show both what can be achieved using volunteer reco=
rders and also, inevitably, what can go wrong. But I've certainly seen some=
very creditable efforts using this template. Ranald Clouston's recording f=
orm, as used by the CCC is a rather more specialist - fine for experienced =
recorders, but less good for the volunteer. There may be others that are wo=
rkable enough
