Of t= he other two towers which formerly contained rings, St Julian's tower is no= w a house, with the bells hung from chains in the base of the tower for clo= cking, and at St Alkmund the 8-bell frame remains, now containing a single = small bell hung for swing chiming. When I visited both bell chamber and rin= ging room had been extensively colonised by pigeons, but I understand from = someone who has been up there more recently that it has since been cleaned = out.
