
<html><div style='background-color:'><DIV class=RTE>I am trying to find out about the history of the bells at St. James, West Teignmouth. The present ring of 8 is by Mears, dating from the 1860s. Before that there were 4 bells, one of which was said to be 'broken'. Is there a list of bells of the period cast be Mears (equivalent, for example to the excellent list by Nick Bowden of those by L&J)? I know the number of bells is much greater but it is possible that there is an authoritative work somewhere!</DIV>
