information in the D&N booklet on Roker is what I was supplied with by local
ringers; it was one of the towers I wasn't able to survey myself. So it's
quite possible that one of the dates is different. However my
understanding is that they were cast with the intention of creating a complete

St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral in Edinburgh qualify as a complete ten from the
start? My notes say that they are Taylor 1879 and from the information in
the Buildings of Scotland volume that is when the central tower and spire were
built. The two west towers were added quite a bit later, in
1913-1917.</FONT></SPAN></DIV>

Incidentally Roker bells were not all cast in the same year. One was
<BR>cast in <BR>> 1947 and the rest were cast in 1948 and all of the
bells are <BR>individual war <BR>>
