No.Language is not exactly logical but I find its history - etymology - truly fascinating  <br>

would perhaps have run more logically if 'flaut' was an every day English word.<br>
I'm not certain,  but I believe it's Italian (for the English'
'flute' which is of course derived from the French)  hence Eng
FLUT(e)ist ! <br>
 I have recently discovered that 'flummery' is anglicised from a
Welsh word 'llymru' with 'F' = "LL' as in Shakespeare's 'Fluellen'
(Llewelyn) etc<br>
