Bells" that the five bells of St Thomas RC Church have now been
returned to St Helier from Taylors and that the weight of the largest is now
49-1-4; 63", B, G&F Paccard, Annecy, 1930. So it will have to come out
of "my" list in the Diary which has a cut-off weight of 50-cwt approx. The
other four each weigh less than a ton.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>The very slender and lofty tower and spire, by M.
Norman, of France, were not designed for a ringing peal and these ones hang in a
wooden two-tier frame built by Paccard in 1904. The French fittings
have been scrapped and new JT fittings for slow swinging (by electric
motors) are being installed. </FONT></DIV>
