St Mary (Minster Street), which is the name of the street in which St Mary's
stands - at its junction with The Butts. I do not think there is an
obvious link with Minster and the church of St Mary. Unless of

sudden proliferation of churches being designated as “the minster
church of …”? I notice on Campanophile that St Mary’s,
Reading has become another church with delusions of
