<DIV>I didn't think that it would take Bell Historians long to find something
but only one of these bells could be from the 1823 ring of six given by Sir
Ralph Woodward. </DIV>

<DIV>Gertrude Carmichael does not mention any breakages when "the great
earthquake of September 20th, 1825, damaged the church and the tower had to be
rebuilt". She also goes on to mention, "the bells not being rehung for
some years.” She may have been inaccurate in her report, but I assumed
that "rehung" meant 'rehung in the same manner'; that is, for full circle
ringing.</DIV>
