surveyed before their dissolution and an inventory made of their goods and
land. There are often references to the amount of lead and bell metal removed
and where a monastic church became a parish church it sometimes possible to
make comparisons with the Edward VI surveys of around 1553.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>
