And I'd love a set of detailed photographs of Chertsey Abbey, but alas
it was utterly destroyed in the 150 years following 1537. Supposedly
the 5th most important Abbey in England and the place where the Book of
Common Prayer was largely written.<br>

I wonder whether, a few hundred years hence, our wanton destruction of
such grand buildings (they are only Victorian after all, not old enough
to be important!) might be viewed with the same regret that we feel
when looking back at the destruction of so many wonderful Abbey
churches.<br>
