My apologies, having turned the page, I now notice that the 26 bells hung on the roof of the Bell Tower are classified as tubular bells. They are not, they are traditional carillon bells and originally formed the top two octaves of the carillon in the tower on Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra. The top three bells were recast at Loughborough and an additonal bell added in 2006 (see my article in the RW, 2009, p 249).<BR>
