It would help to have a little more detail about the notebook. Was it in the G & J collection at the library? Did any of the towers featured have work done by G & J during that period?

I am in the process of transcribing, from microfiche, a rough notebook containing details of peals of bells at various locations, of their condition and work proposed or undertaken, c1879 - 1907.

Any ideas as to who wrote it?

The original is held at Croydon Local Studies Center under Ref AR1/1/2. The work is about to be posted there for checking.

AAJB
