There are plenty of suitable people - in addition to those you list, ones which I can immediately think of are Andrew Aspland and Mark Regan (so far as I know neither of them have served on the bells committee before).<br>

Are the criteria for appointments made public these days, or are they shrouded in secrecy? Openness and accountability are generally things which the CofE dislikes intensely.<br>
