<p class="MsoNormal">A point to consider may be where does the founder get the metal from for new bells? Was it virgin metal straight from the mine? If previously used then surely it was recast – whether it had been scrap bells or something else.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">As to itinerant founder using what they could get, perhaps the following from the accounts of St Peter Port in 1736 at the recasting of 8 ringing bells c20cwt and the clock bell c14cwt by Brocard Bros of Lorraine may indicate something.<o:p></o:p></p>
