There is an article in today's Times about Teresa Tormey, the Office Manager
at Taylor's. She is pictured in front of 4 bells with chalk marks
indicating that they are from Orton, (the 8 in Cumbria, I assume). Three
bells have the numbers 759 (number of bell obscured, but it is a smaller
bell than the other 2), 939 (the 6th) and 836 (the 5th), respectively. Each
number is preceded by an O with a diagonal line through it, a charactor in
some Scandinavian languages, I think. The large bell behind the other 3 has
its chalk marks away from the camera. What do the numbers mean?
