[Bell Historians] FW: G&J 'Major Thirds'

The analysis for Wolverhampton shows that all the tierces are closer to
minor than major (and jump around considerably), but one or two towards
the back end sound major to me. I put
it to the experts here: is it a result of the equal temperament our ears
are used to, in which minor thirds are significantly flatter than in the
true scale, that a tierce as little as a quarter of a semitone sharp
strikes me as sounding at least half a semitone sharp i.e. closer to major
than minor?
