There's an account of Gillett's works of 1886, reprinted in one of their
catalogues and also in my edition of "Turret Clocks: Lists of Clocks
from makers' catalogues and publicity materials" AHS Turret Clock Group
Monograph No.3 (1995) - available from Chris McKay at chris.mckay at t....
Excuse the plug for this (though there's nothing in it for me financially).
I can post the text is people are interested

There's also an account of Whitechapel from which those wonderful woodcuts
of the works were taken, but I don't have publication details for it.
