The Devizes branch centenery booklet states:

During 1959 Chirton bells were augmented to six and Steeple Ashton bells were 
returned to the tower after being recast by Taylors of Loughborough, an 
unusual feature being that the names of the ringers are listed on the tenor 
bell.
