I actually rang in two peals at St Andrew's Derby. On 23.2.1969 and the last
peal on the bells 2.11.1969. This was rung immediately prior to evensong
which we attended. The church was very near the Railway Station and as I
was walking past the church early on the Monday morning the demolition
contractors already had part of the spire down. I have spoken to Tim Wylie
who was also a member of the band and he confirms what I thought that they
were the best ring of bells in Derby. I think the bells were broken up at
the foundry but I hope someone from Derby will confirm this.

What were they like, any good? - were the bells sold to a scrap dealer
or one of the foundries, and what about the fittings/frame?
