During my time in Oxfordshire (1980 -2001) there was never an enquiry
to weld a bell at Bicester. There was, however, a telephone
enquiry about the Gargate Bell at Caversfield, which is 
set up in a frame at the bottom of the tower. One of the
options at the time was to have the bell welded and returned
to use for chiming only. 

The discussions came to nothing, as the Church Authorities
are currently spending as little as possible on Caversfield
Church.
