This thread brought to mind a recent Sunday afternoon when I rang for (and =
attended) a John Wesley 300th anniversary meeting at St. Peter's Chertsey (=
which is an LEP Shared church).

Apparently, according to the speaker, the great man used to speak out again=
st the evils of drinking tea - he himself far preferring to drink beer.

Clearly the Methodists got the message a bit wrong somewhere along the line=
.

Clearly a teetotaller. There is usual alternative liquid entertainment a=
vailable nearby, sufficient of which would have rendered him insensible to =
the 'noise'.
