On the matter of perceived fourths, it should be remembered the the first
Great John of Beverley (Taylor,1900, 82.5", 113.0.21 ) was rejected and
replaced with the larger bell (JT 1901, 87" 140.3.1) because of the
intrusive note. It was retuned (106.3.0) and is now at Downside as Great
Bede.
