Am doing a bit of work on this list, as I have access to Ellacombe's Somers=
et (which lists a few J&P bells, even though it needs to be used carefully =
as a source) and other unpublished lists. Hope to post a more detailed list=
later on. There are quite a lot more, as CD says, but none as early as the=
one at Kenn.

Throws up a few queries, of course:
a.. Who was the founder of Dinder tenor "recast at Bristol 1840" (41")?
b.. Who was James Gotby/Gotley of Bristol, 1853?
c.. Who cast the old 9th at St.Nicholas, Bristol, 1856
d.. Who cast Yatton old 4th, 1852 (recast M&S 1950)
Just for starters!

Don't suppose there will be any answers today. Most folk will be at the CCC=
bash (hope that's the word if it gets silly!) in London

The list was done in haste, in good faith, and it did not even claim to b=
e complete, as stated at the end. Indeed it only covered the Diocese of Bri=
stol from my own researches, plus one or two related towers. The Welsh summ=
ary was for those who don't have Wright to hand. I assumed that every self=
-respecting Bell Historian possesses Dorset, and so far as Bath & Wells is =
concerned, as stated, no doubt G.K.M. will have a list. I shall see him la=
ter to-day and ask him.

There are a lot of bells missing from this list, including the two publ=
ished
in Bells & Belfries of Dorset (Buckhorn Weston and Sandford Orcas) and
others which I have posted on this list in the past few weeks (Tyntesfi=
eld,
Charlton-by-Donhead, Chittoe), plus a lot in Somerset (including Kenn) =
which
George Massey will no doubt have a list of.
