If you do, you're going to have to have the clapper staples
completely redesigned otherwise the clappers wont 'throw' properly.

Am I right in thinking that the pivot of the clapper should be 4" below the
pivot of the bell? I will have a measure up but I suspect even without the
pads there would still be 4" of throw.
