Yes, I agree that TCCT should have its own schedule of bells for
preservation. Being a member of the Clocks & Bells C'ttee of the CCC, I am
in a good position to access the necessary lists. I shall add it to the long
list of tasks to do before my retirement in four year's time - earlier I
hope!
I have made a list of all bells in Trust churches. Each entry gives the
number of bells and whether hung for ringing or chiming, plus a brief note
on condition. It needs revision but this will take some time as I compiled
it before I had a computer, so I need to transfer the lot to disc. At the
last count the Trust owned 795 bells. It is likely to be some time before I
can revise it so please can people resist asking for a copy until further
notice?
