Hung dead on wooden deadstocks on an iron grillage, all in bad order when G=
AD inspected them in 1979 and obtained the foregoing particulars which I ha=
ppened to have before me when this matter came up. Not Gillett & Bland, not=
"Mr Glen" but definitely Mr Blews.

I was once told that the Baxenden bells were by
Gillett & Bland. However I have no real evidence for
this. I have only heard them once and they sounded
dreadful. The tenor seemed to be very flat.=20
