Several years ago the bell advisers for all the dioceses within Yorkshire m=
et and together with myself representing the Keltek Trust produced a volunt=
ary code of practice covering the relocation of bells within Yorkshire. Dr.=
Arnold Smith produced and issued the document to all the dioceses. If foll=
owed it will give preference to keeping bells within the same diocese with =
a second preference for within Yorkshire and then outside Yorkshire.
It also suggested the resale price for the bells.

The main purpose is to give churches within YACR the first preference to in=
stalling bells. The meeting was initiated because of concerns for the futur=
e of Denholme bells.

I am hopeful that the bells will remain within the diocese as a ringing pea=
l.
