Sorry to spoil a good story about Evesham, but Cyril Johnston severed his c=
onnection with the firm in December 1948 and died on 30 March 1950. Evesham=
bells were ordered from Taylors in December 1950 and dedicated on 8 Septem=
ber 1951.=20

Not sure how far Cyril Johnston was personally involved in any negotiations=
with the parish over this job, though the post-1948 management were no les=
s aggressive in pursuit of work.
