CD's site notes described Bagshot bells thus:

"extraordinary granky throaty gurglers but interesting and rather exciting
sound. 3rd pretty good, 4th weird, 6th good, 7th pretty good but old-style
-ish, tenor extraordinary".

There was that marvellous description of them - where? - by CD (the Master
of the Subjective or Objective Adjective). I cannot remember it exactly, but
it deserves preserving - something like "throaty gronking gurglers". Like so
many of his descriptions, you can almost hear them as you read it!

To me the back six at Bagshot sound not dissimilar to very good steel
bells!! A most odd sound indeed.
