The foundry can be heard outside but the story is that originally they were
too quiet and a brick or two was removed from the top of the tower to
conform.

I suspect Shoreditch cannot be heard outside enough for anyone to tell if a
peal is being rung correctly... which after all is the point of the
requirement.... so Derek Sibson has not rung as many peals as he thinks!!
