Seriously, I find EP90 (or similar) ideal but first I soak squares of old
carpet felt and then place these on top of the gudgeons. This not only keeps
the bearings lubricated for a few weeks but also cleans them. One should
remember to change the pieces of felt on a regular basis.

Not sure what I shall use when my current supply of old carpet runs out. Any
suggestions?
