Stolen Bells- a possible solution?

I wonder if it may be possible to have a list of stolen bells on this
group?
Given that there appears to be no list at present for reference,
perhaps given the nature of Bell Historians, this would be an ideal
place for such a list of bells.
I would have thought that as we are all interested in bell archealogy
and the like, ther is some chance that bells may be recovered from time
to time- look at the Leeds handbells.
If it had not been for the fact I was looking for small bells, I would
never have come across them for sale on the internet.
I posted about them on here and I understand moves were made to
recover them.
A good deal of us come across bells for sale at some time or other,
and if we knew what to look for regarding stolen bells, there is some
chance that the odd recovery or two could be made.
The great thing about the Bell Historians list is that members are
scattered round the country.
If a bell was stolen from a Church in Lancashire, it could be
mentioned locally, but that does not mean to say that the stolen bell
would be for sale locally.
