[Bell Historians] Yellow spots

Can anyone tell me why Askrigg and Aysgarth have yellow spots painted
on the floor in the ringing room where the bell ropes fall?

I imagine they are a useful guide as to where to stand or where to put a
box! At Burley, Leeds, for a while we had a wooden marker under each rope
hole. This was to encourage ringers to stand accurately under the rope
holes to avopid wearing the ropes on this (very) low-ceilinged ring.
