I have known them pull the ropes of the clock bells up through the ceiling -
a spider does not appear sufficiently off-putting to deter would-be novice
bellringers having a swing.

We visited this wonderful church on Monday afternoon.

Whilst looking around I poked my head into the ground floor ringing
room: anyone know why there should appear to be only five of the ten
bells roped up at the moment?
