[Bell Historians] Non-diatonic rings

I'm sure you don't really want to know this, but I had a dream last
night in which I was ringing a peal on the six at Amersham (on which I
learned to ring but which had somehow become ground-floor). Alan
Ainsworth was conducting. The tenor was a semitone sharp. It was
agonising.

I didn't know any of the methods, either.

All Freudian or other explanations off-list, please.
