I met some ringer last night from Scotland who was explaining about
wooden bearings at a tower in Worcestershire. Is this correct or am I
right in thinking he is mistaken?

Aye

> Not necessarily! If the tenor at tower M has bearings that fit
properly and the tenor at tower P doesn't, even though it is 10 cwt
lighter it is the worse bell for go, or so I have heard!
