Some of us are amused by the groping forward towards knowledge!
Egmanton being the first is well recorded in 'Dawsons Dossiers', and yes,
the frame is a lowsided wooen one.

I knew it already (having perused Dawson's Dossiers!). Can author of said=
dossiers identify the first instance of the use of cast iron headstocks in=
conjunection with an entirely metal frame?
