This reminds me that DLC, Churchwarden Kisch and myself were in Tunbridge
Wells on Saturday and came upon an antique shop with 3 bells in the window.
One was a small brass bell, another was a Warner school bell (about 10"
diameter), and the 3rd was an 1877 Taylor bell of 15" in diameter. (The
dealer didn't know where it had come from.)

He was asking GBP 450 for the large bell and GBP 380 for the Warner bell!!

He might have been impressed with DLC's authoritative overtures to start
with, but wasn't too happy when we sneered at the price clearly uninterested
in doing more than poking at these things with a tape measure!
