I was at Southwark again on Sunday morning and tackled Michael Uphill on the
question of the exact weight. It would seem that Peter Hayward told him what
the weight was going to be down to the last pound BEFORE it was cast/tuned!
Michael confirmed that the bell was actually cast in the week. I suppose it
remains to be seen how close Peter was in his estimate.
The bell is due to be delivered to the Cathedral in time for a ceremony next
Sunday morning in front of the High (or Nave) Altar. Apparently it is also
inscribed with an HMA Foundry Mark, the design of which has not yet been
revealed.
The Dean of Southwark was also talking about filling it with Old Hooky...

P.S. I agree with Mike Chester - HTML postings should be avoided if at all
possible. It is bad practice for a number of very good reasons.
